Spectacular July 4th Events You Need To Check Out

28th Annual Patriot Festival

 

As the 28th annual Patriot Festival approaches, we’re here to give you all the information you may need to spend your July 4th the best way possible! This event takes place at Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge and is known as one of “America’s Best 4th of July Fireworks Display.” Admission is free to the event and even better, the food, musical performances, and games are all free as well. This is a great event to bring the family to and enjoy the day. Be sure to bring blankets and chairs for seating and viewing the performances.

July 4th Schedule:

12:00 PM- Free Kid’s Karnival and food vendors begin to open.

1:30 PM- Entertainment Begins with:

Veterans tribute

Pigeon Forge Community Chorus and more

Electric Avenue

8:30 PM- Headliner Craig Morgan Performance

9:45 PM- Fireworks Show!

*Note: Coolers and umbrellas are not permitted on site.

Gatlinburg River Raft Regatta

Gather around the The Little Pigeon River for the annual River Raft Regatta! Taking place at the Christ in the Smokies bridge on River Road and ending at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, you can enter any floating object. The object you enter will be categorized as either Trash or Treasure meaning it is either hand made or not. Since it is a competition, there are many awards hat will be given out such as: top 3 winners in each category, a judge’s choice award for the most creative raft, as well as the youngest and oldest participants in the competition.

In this year’s competition, guests are able to purchase rubber ducks for $1 and be entered into the regatta. All proceeds benefit the Gatlinburg Chamber Foundation.

10:00 AM: Registration for the River Raft regatta begins

12:00 PM: Races begin

First Independence Day Parade in The Nation

Gatlinburg is famous for hosting the First Independence Day Parade in the nation each each year for 43 years now! The parade begins July 4th at 12:01 AM at traffic light #1A on East Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg. The parade proceeds to traffic light #3 and down over a mile to traffic light #10 at Ski Mountain Road. Early arrival Tuesday, July 3rd in encouraged in order for the best viewing of the colorful and patriotic parade!  Festivities will last until 10:00 PM July 4th when a 20 min fireworks spectacular will go off downtown.
