Misty Mountain Soaps: A Small Business Supporting Their Community

A Small Business that is Making a Difference

Tucked away in the mountains of Gatlinburg you will find a hidden treasure called Misty Mountain Soap Co. This wonderful business has two locations: one in The Village of downtown Gatlinburg (634 Parkway #25 Gatlinburg, TN 37738) and the other in The Morning Mist Village in the Arts and Crafts Community (Morning Mist Village #25, 601 Glades Rd Gatlinburg, TN 37738).

Where Misty Mountain Soaps All Began

The whole operation was started by Cindy Heinmann. She and her daughter, Emily Rose, wanted to provide handmade, all-natural skincare products to people who wanted a more organic approach to skincare. They first began by selling their products at local arts & crafts festivals, but eventually the business got so big that they needed a workshop and employees. While Misty Mountain Soap Co. stays true to its humble beginnings by continuing to participate in local craft shows, they now also carry their products in two locations as well as sell their products online. You can purchase them here.

The Products of Misty Mountain Soaps

This company sells more than soaps, they also sell candles, wax melts, salt and sugar scrubs, laundry soaps, room mists, lotions, and hair care products. Cathy Esterline commented on our Facebook Live and said, “I love the Ache No More. It really works.” They also have featured products with various fragrances of the month. Their products make perfect gifts for any occasion, and sometimes freebies are given with online orders when customers order in bulk!

Products that Make You Feel Good, Inside and Out

Purchases from this business are ones you can feel good about because proceeds from each purchase go to various charities in Sevier Co. Misty Mountain Soaps supports the Forgotten Child Fund of Sevier Co., the Sevier Co. Humane Society, the Sevier Co. Mobile Meals program, and the local Second Harvest Food Bank. They follow through on their claim of valuing the local community. In 2019, Misty Mountain Soap Co. donated around $50,000 to help these charities

The Personal Connection of a Small Business Organization

In addition to valuing the community, Misty Mountain Soap Co. also values their employees. Every employee is treated like family, which is easy with such a small team. Along with Cindy, there is also Brittney the lotion crafter, Jennifer the soap maker, Rosa in production and sales, and Wes who answers phones, wraps products, ships products, and helps in any other way he can. Wes is so loved by customers that now stickers with his face are placed on all the orders that he packages. How can you not love a business with a sense of humor?
