Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community
The largest group of independent artisans in North America. historic 8-mile loop has been designated a Tennessee Heritage Arts & Crafts Trail. Established in 1937, these artisans whittle, paint, sew, cast, weave and carve to create original collectibles such as candles, baskets, quilts, brooms, pottery, jewelry, dolls, ceramics, scrimshaw, silver smithing, leather, stained glass, wearable fashions, fine photography, frame able art, mixed media and also lodging, restaurants, cafés, tea room, soda fountain and candy shops. Spanning as many as five generations of artisans, there is something for everyone. These local artists also feature hands on experiences that celebrate the heritage of the Appalachian culture. Join them as they show you how to make your own custom crafts that will bring back memories for years to come. The craftsmanship continues throughout the Community with handcrafted foods that will showcase the art of cooking.
