The event kicks off with the opening ceremony at 10:00 A.M. in Sevierville, TN, featuring patriotic singing, inspiring guest speakers, and a majestic appearance by an American Bald Eagle. The solemn moment of placing a wreath at the Veteran’s Monument, accompanied by the haunting melody of Taps, sets the tone for the day. Rain or shine, the police-escorted ride departs promptly at 11:00 A.M., heading towards Veteran’s Overlook atop Clinch Mountain in Grainger County. Upon arrival, the solemnity continues with the closing ceremony, featuring stirring patriotic music, another wreath-laying ceremony, and the solemn reverence of a 21 Gun Salute, concluding with the haunting notes of Taps echoing through the mountains.
