A High-Spirited Adventure with Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Attraction!

Wednesday, July 25th, 2018

As one of Pigeon Forge’s Top Rated Dinner Shows, TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence Winners, AND The World’s Most Visited Attraction, Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Attraction is always a highlight of any Smoky Mountain vacation!

Families come back season after season to enjoy this dinner attraction which features 32 beautiful horses and world class riders performing thrilling stunts and daring tricks. The Stampede showcases so many talents including comedic, musical, and athletic as well. Growing up nearby Pigeon Forge, Dolly Parton’s Stampede was a real treat for me and my family. I loved watching all the animals incorporated into the show, the audience participations, and of course…THE FOOD!

Be sure to arrive early! 50 minutes before every show you can enjoy hanging out in The Saloon dancing and listening to toe- tappin’ music by Mountain Ruckus! Sip on a cold Coca- Cola and other drinks in a souvenir boot mug that you can keep! (I love using these at home!) After dancing and refreshments, you can get a preview of the main stars of the show. You get the opportunity to walk around outdoor stables and meet some of the beautiful horses that you’ll see later on in the show! This is always one of my favorite aspects of the stampede! Most shows don’t always give the opportunity to meet and interact with the animals, but The Stampede goes above and beyond to make sure you and your family enjoy the experience!

After the Mountain Ruckus Pre- Show, you’ll head into the 35,000 sq. ft. arena where the action packed entertainment begins! As you find your seat you’ll be greeted by your server who will be wearing a color which represents your “team” or side for the show. Sides of the arena are divided into North and South which will be the sides competing in family- friendly events throughout the show. Be sure to cheer on your side as they compete in different challenges! Special effects, musical productions, and family friendly comedic adventures are incorporated into this one of a kind show- which really lives up to its reputation as a Top Rated Dinner Show in Pigeon Forge!

Who’s Hungry?

Dolly Parton’s Stampede doesn’t let you go hungry while experiencing all the adventure and action- packed fun. They offer a delicious four- course feast for you and family to enjoy… and devour!  So what’s included? In your feast you’ll get:

  • Delicious Tender Whole Rotisserie Chicken
  • Hickory Smoked Barbecued Pork Loin
  • Original Creamy Vegetable Soup
  • Heavenly Homemade Biscuit
  • Hot Buttered Corn on the Cob
  • Tasty Herb-Basted Potato
  • Stampede’s own Specialty Dessert- (my favorite is their yummy apple turnovers!)
  • Unlimited Coca-Cola®, tea or coffee

Is your mouth watering yet? Yeah, mine too! This is the most southern inspired meal I can think of and it DOES NOT disappoint!

I know you and your family will love the show! For those who have seen it, be sure to share your Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner attraction experience with us in the comments!

When visitors step inside the ship, they’ll receive a boarding pass that represents an actual passenger of the ship! As visitors transverse the museum, they’ll have the chance to discover if their passenger was able to survive the tragedy.

The ship is always changing and displaying new exhibits and artifacts. Be sure to check out the wedding dress display full of dresses designed by Lucy, Lady Duff-Gordon.

The Comedy Barn® Theater’s all new “Amazing Animals ™ Pet Show” in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., is back for athird summer matinee season with lots of fun barnyard animals from the very big to the very small, and from the real to the make believe.  The “Amazing Animals ™ Pet Show” features animals that range in size from a magically appearing 5-foot-7-inch pink panther to the microscopic marvel of a flea circus.  Besides these animals, there is a talking pig, other trained pigs (one goes through an obstacle course!), an egg-laying rooster, a dragon lizard, a Burmese albino python, an African King Cobra snake and a donkey who counts and dances. There are trained cats and dogs, a baby lynx, a marmoset monkey, an owl, a lemur, some trained parrots and plenty of magic doves and chickens. Some of the animals are stuffed, such as a monkey puppet who appears with his ventriloquist or an animatronic chicken.

Last but not least for those itching for fun, the greatest ringmaster demonstrates his world famous teeny Australian trained flea performers in his Flea Circus. The fleas do circus tricks, and guests will be amazed to see the world’s strongest flea, a flea drive a car blindfolded, a flea jump off the high dive, a flea juggle a ball, and a flea shot out of a cannon.

This two hour pet show combines the talents of trained pigs, parrots, housecats, dogs and a mini-donkey all performing with costuming and choreography together in an “Amazing Amimal™ Pet Show” at The Comedy Barn® Theater at 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays beginning June 2.  The show runs through Saturday, Aug. 18. There are animal educational segments as well as performing segments, and there is also audience participation as children from the audience are called up to the stage to do the “Chicken Dance” and the “Cha Cha Slide.”

“Animals are the most amazing creatures, and our ‘Amazing Animals Pet Show’ features animal antics, zany comedy and a cast of fuzzy, furry, feathered and four legged friends,” said David Fee, president and chief executive officer of The Fee/Hedrick Family Entertainment Group and co-owner of The Comedy Barn® Theater.  “We have a wonderful mix of music, comedy, mayhem and animals.”

“Come experience our ‘Amazing Animals Pet Show,’” said Jim Hedrick, co-owner of The Comedy Barn® Theater.  “Come see the remarkable ventriloquist talent of Kyle Scribner. Kyle has some amazing animal puppets which come to life, and they will make you laugh until you cry.  His character is a cross between Gilligan and Ernest.  He always tries hard but he ends up a little short each time.”

Anthony, Alena King and their trained “comedy critters” (house animals and farm animals) perform in the “Amazing Animals ™ Pet Show.” They have performed at The Comedy Barn® Theater for the last five years.  They have appeared on Animal Planet’s “Pet Star,” “The Tonight Show,” and at theme parks, festivals, fairs, pet expos, conventions and corporate events across the country. They have also performed in theaters in Branson, Mo., in “The Comedy Pet Variety Show” in Lakeland, Fla., as well as in the Royal Hanneford Circus.

“Tony and Alena King are bringing back their amazing animal act to The ‘Amazing Animal Pet Show,’” Fee said.  “Tony and Alena are phenomenally talented animal trainers and performers, and it is incredible what their animals can do.  Tony and Alena have a unique, family friendly act that combines their extraordinary pets with magic, acrobatics and audience participation. They have rescued most of these animals from shelters all over the country, and now they are Pigeon Forge stars.

King is a former accomplished aerialist and high wire walker. His wife, Alena, is originally from Russia and attended circus school in Russia.  She is a former aerialist and fire spinner.

“Come see Tony’s mini pigs ham it up at The Comedy Barn,” Fee said.  “These pigs can even check the mail!”  Pig stars Boris Bacon and Jessie Ham perform comedy, do flag rising, hurdle jumping, ball playing, bell ringing and pig waltzing, and they even roll out the red carpet!

Ten high diving domestic housecats all perform in a comedy routine. They jump through hoops, zig zag, do a high step routine, balance on an Olympic pole, upside-down walk, and do super jumps, and they even do a high diving stunt.

Fee said, “Also starring in The Amazing Animals Pet Show at The Comedy Barn Theater is a Comedy Barn Canine act where the dogs do hurdle jumps and barrel rolls, they roll over, they do a hind leg stand and they even jump rope.”

Charlie the communicating mini-donkey is another part of “The Amazing Animals ™ Pet Show.”  “Charlie is the only donkey in Pigeon Forge who understands humans,” Fee said.  “The audience can watch him shake his head yes or no to their questions. He can also add, subtract and even guess people’s age.

“This show also has trained parrots,” said Fee.  “Come see birds flying through rings right over your head,” Fee said.  “They also do comedy, skate, ride scooters and bicycles, perform on the high wire, dance, pull carts, see-saw, do foot juggling, fly through rings and many other feats.”

Country magician Greg Franklin, known as “Farmer Clem” in “The Comedy Barn®” show, also appears in the “Amazing Animals ™ Pet Show” and does magic tricks with animals. He previously worked at the Carolina Nights Dinner Theater in Maggie Valley.

There will also be a magical appearance from Lindsay Hamm as she reprises her role as the Pink Panther and stage assistant.  Hamm was a member of last year’s “Amazing Animals” ™ cast and has also previously performed in “Magic Beyond Belief.” ™   Also appearing will be Rebecca Krebs, exotic animal exhibitor and educator.

The production team includes:  David Fee and Jim Hedrick, executive producers; Robert Kalina, director; Justin Manning, video and lights; David Rains, audio; and Colin Tillman and Ken Wagner, stage technicians.

The Lumberjacks Are Back!

Friday, May 18th, 2018

Paula Deen is making her mark again here in the Smoky Mountains. From delicious recipes to now a live outdoor show, Ms. Deen is expanding her endeavors with us and can’t wait! For those of you familiar with the area, you’ll probably remember a lumberjack feud dinner show form a few years ago. Although it is not making its original comeback, Paula Deen has taken over to produce this all new, thrill seeking outdoor adventure!

                       Let’s Take it Outside!

Paula sure is changing the game when it comes to high intensity and live action stunts. If you’ve driven by Walden’s Landing recently, you’ll notice two large timbers sticking up out of the ground. This area is also home to The Forge Cinemas, Smoky Mountain Brewery, Five Guys, and The Tomb Escape Game. The audience area will be comprised with space for 350 padded seats which will be under cover and temperature controlled to save us all from the summer scorch!

                                                                           Family Friendly Competition

Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud will relate very closely to the previous show which focuses on a family feud between the Dawsons and the McGraws in competitions in tree climbing, speed tree chopping, log rolling, and even axe throwing!

Not only will the families be feudin’, but the show will create friendly competition amongst the crowd. Audience participation will be a fun factor for the show and gives visitors a chance to learn the ropes from professional world- class lumberjacks, talk enough smack and you may set yourself to compete AGAINST them!

The feud is excited to announce a few extra adventures included in the project. From an extreme zipline roller coaster, playground, and 80 foot jump tower, Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud will be fun for the entire family. The show even has a special intermission session for the kiddos!

Are You Ready?

Sign us up! Paula Deen’s Lumberjack feud will be opening this summer and will operate rain or shine through the end of the year. Click the link to get your tickets!

High-diving Hillbillies and Long- jumping Canines: New acts at Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud

Thursday, May 17th, 2018

Lookout Pigeon Forge, the high-diving hillbillies and competitive long- jumping canines are splashing into town at the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud!

New to the theater is a 24 foot deep Olympic diving pool holding 300,000 gallons of water. It is the only stage of its kind in the Smoky Mountains, and it has made possible the addition of TWO new acts to the traditional dinner show.

Come see hillbilly divers from both the Hatfield and McCoy clans take the plunge in the new water scene of the dinner feud. The hillbilly performers spring from diving boards that are high above the stage to see which family can win the diving competition. The water scene also incorporates a new rain curtain that pours water on the performers to add the dramatic effect of a “feuding storm.”

Divers in the new “Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud” are seen doing dives such as” the “cabbage roll,” “swimming hole,” “rock ‘n roll,” “jack hammer,” “helicopter,” “I Dream of Jeannie,” “Cupid’s arrow,” and the “jump rope.”  In addition, Lu Lu, a curvaceous lifeguard from the Moose Lodge makes her first appearance to the clans in this new show.

David Fee, president and chief executive officer of Fee/ Hedrick Family Entertainment, saysIn our new water version of the show we have a flame-thrower, a pool on fire, a mischievous mayor and his sheriff, dynamite, and a water cannon that all make for fun blasts of water going up into the air,” Fee said.

The addition of the diving pool scene in the show does also have a historical significance in the infamous Hatfield and McCoy feud. “The Hatfield and McCoy feud began in the mountainous Tug River Valley, where the Tug Fork River formed a border between West Virginia and Kentucky. This caused a geographical separation between the two family clans. And just like everything else, they began to squabble at the river too.”

In addition to the high- dive act, the new Olympic pool also enabled the show to add another new act. David Fee says “ We’ve had the idea for many years now to incorporate long- jumping canines to the show, but of course, we needed the pool to do it. Now the audience can cheer along as the team of athletic dogs leap across the new pool to retrieve a toy or stick. It’s fun for the whole family, and especially the kids, to see the dogs in action.”

The show is a mixture of clean comedy, music, clogging, singing, acrobatics, and now high-diving country bumpkins and athletic-jumping dogs. The two new acts in the show did bring new performers to this season’s show. Fee said, “Our hillbilly cast has acrobatic tricks, amazing, thrilling stunts, and lots of hillbilly feudin’.  We have lots of high dives, laughs and family fun.”
