Getting Around Town

A common question most travelers to the area have is, how to avoid traffic on the parkway during these weekend events? Although golf carts are the best way to maneuver around the high traffic volume areas, there are a few requirements in places to operate these vehicles.

All golf carts being driven on sidewalks, parking lots, and on the parkways are required to have safety equipment such as:

  • Head, tail, stop, and front and rear turn signal lamps
  • Reflectors- red on each side near the rear and also one red on the back of the cart.
  • Parking brake
  • Driver’s side exterior mirror, and either an interior mirror or exterior mirror on passenger side
  • Non- plexiglass windshield
  • Seat belts
  • VIN number

Rentals are always available in Pigeon Forge for your convenience. All rentals are certified to be used on the parkway, sidewalks, parking lots, etc. If you’re looking for golf carts or scooter rentals be sure to check out these options!

Avoid The Parkway!

The main parkway that runs straight through Pigeon Forge is always pretty busy and car show weekends amplify this times 100! A few tips would be to take an alternate route/ road to get to either Dollywood’s Splash Country or The LeConte Center for these events.  Rather than taking the parkway, try hopping on Teaster Lane and Veterans Boulevard. Both of these roads connect and run parallel to the parkway to save you from the many traffic lights and other drivers!

If you’re staying in a hotel close to the event location, try walking the parkway! The walk is flat and allows you to either walk along the parkway or take a detour to the greenway for more scenic views! Enjoy walking by all shops, attractions, and restaurants without getting stuck in all the heavy traffic!
