About Alcatraz East

Alcatraz East, a new crime museum in Pigeon Forge, has been described as “a must see for CSI fans.” Admission will give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at crime history in America. It’s located at the entrance to The Island at 2757 Parkway in Pigeon Forge. The attraction is 24,000 square foot, 2 stories, and is themed as a 19th century prison, inspired by the infamous Alcatraz in San Francisco. Alcatraz East includes interactive displays and artifacts that cover criminal intent, criminal profiles, the penal system, victim’s stories, law enforcement, crime prevention, forensic science, and our justice system. Families who visit will embark on a fascinating historical journey, see some all too familiar infamous faces, and become educated on some new ones. There are 20 different exhibit areas to explore that will cover five themes; the history of American crime, the consequences of crime, crime scene investigation, crime fighting, and pop culture. From authentic pieces used as evidence in well-known criminal cases, to interactive exhibits and activities, Alcatraz East will offer something compelling and educational for guests of all ages. Visitors can expect to jump into the scene of the crime with exhibits such as a CSI lab, safe cracking, a simulated shooting rage, DUI interactive safety training, and digital fingerprinting. John Dillinger’s car, Al Capone’s rosary, and the Bronco from the OJ car chase and Al Pacino’s submachine gun from the movie Scarface are only a few of the artifacts that are on display.
